How Good Can it Get?
Prepare to See How Good it Can
Be
"People only see what they are prepared
to see."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Whenever I find myself dwelling on what seems
to be wrong, I do my best to remember to ‘turn that frown
upside-down’ and take a fresh look while imagining just how good
things can get. Having a sense of humor, or friends with a sense of humor,
can prove immensely helpful with this. One of my friends commented that he
planned to stay up all the way to midnight this New Year’s eve,
“just to watch 2016 die.” I was grateful to find a
reason to laugh, despite the sorrow I’d been feeling about the
recent surprising death of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, which reminded
me of numerous other unexpected celebrity deaths this past year.
The Boy Scout motto, “be prepared,” is often
considered to mean that potential problems are being contemplated. What
often gets left out are potential opportunities—opportunities
that just might come knocking, only to be dismissed or ignored by us, if
we’re preoccupied with averting various possible disasters.
Keeping in mind that we will most likely see what we are prepared to see,
it stands to reason that being prepared to see something good can be skill
worth cultivating. Recent
scientific studies appear to support this view, as optimism is linked
with reduced risk of early death from a variety of causes including:
cardiovascular problems, cancer, stroke, respiratory disease, and
infection. Harvard postdoctoral research fellow Kaitlin Hagan points out
that “optimism can be altered with relatively uncomplicated and
low-cost interventions—even something as simple as having people
write down and think about the best outcomes for various areas of their
lives, such as careers or friendships.”
The start of this new year is an excellent time to consider an area in your
life that could benefit from the power of positive thinking. Might you
enjoy improved health? It’s a great time to imagine how healthy
you can become this year. Could your work situation be more rewarding? Now
is the perfect moment to envision just how that might be. Would you like
closer friendships and love relationships? This is an excellent opportunity
to daydream about how that might come about. In all areas, be prepared for
unexpectedly good experiences to unfold.
I invite you as you read through the reality shift experiences in this
month’s issue of RealityShifters to encourage your imagination
to consider ways you might enjoy reality shifts this year. It’s
fun to find out how good your life can get in every possible way!

Quantum Mechanics Meets
Neurodynamics: An Emerging 21st Century Science of Consciousness
Friday, January 27, 2017

California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), San
Francisco
The recently deceased Karl Pribram and his student Walter
Freeman, giants of neuroscience, argued cogently that the current American
and Asian brain science mega- projects will shortly follow their European
counterpart into collapse. Their long and full lives included over a
century of experimentation in a neurodynamics paradigm, in which individual
neurons’ firing emerged from holistic brain processes. In short,
the current extravagantly funded mega-projects are several orders of
magnitude too simple in their assumptions. At the same time Pribram and
Freeman were at the height of their careers in the 1970’s, a
group of underemployed physicists centered in the SF Bay area was at the
same time considering the implications of the trails blazed by David Bohm
and John Bell.

Max Velmans talks with Cynthia Sue Larson about how to
understand consciousness from considering both our direct first person
experiences of consciousness, and a classical scientific perspective.
Velmans describes how we can make sense of the nature of mind as being
essentially a psycho-physical processor, where our conscious experiences
can be described by us as we experience them, and also by those observing
measurable outcomes outside of ourselves. Velmans talks about his theory of
reflexive monism, and how we might get closer to the structure of human
consciousness. Max Velmans is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at
Goldsmiths, University of London. He co-founded the Consciousness and
Experiential Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society in
1994, and served as its chair from 2003 to 2006. He was appointed National
Visiting Professor by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, and was
elected to the British Academy of Social Sciences. Velmans has around 100
publications in the area of consciousness studies, including his book,
“Understanding Consciousness.”

I have a brother who recalls a missing scene from the 1989
movie, "Star Trek the Final Frontier.” I remember my brother
talking with me about a missing scene when he previously watched it. He
told me about the scene where Spock mind melds first with Bones, and then
Captain Kirk. In this scene, we see Captain Kirk's pain upon the death of
his own son and father. He breaks the meld, and refuses to relinquish it,
pulling away—and this is where we normally see Captain Kirk
explain that he needs his pain. Update on my brother's recollection: now
even HE doesn't remember talking with me about it! I questioned him,
telling him he did in fact tell me about recalling a missing scene from
that movie. My thinking is, I've shifted to a reality and left the brother
who was aware and now—Not. I cued the scene where the missing
part should've been.
https://youtu.be/ws-6rqbQBpc
Note from Cynthia: Wow, that is truly intense! I love your
sharing the scene from Star Trek--and I remember things the way you,
do--that's no longer there. I've also sometimes noticed reality shifts
where the current version of events no longer matches the official
history--and had witnesses who either at first also agree with me that
there's been a shift and then over time end up asserting there's been no
change--or witnesses who at first thought there'd been no change, who ended
up confirming they now notice something has changed, after all. So with
regard to reality shifts, some back-and-forth movement seems to occur in
people around us.

Tony Bennett Turns 90 and Stevie Wonder Sounds Good
Again
Laurie
Cape Coral, Florida, USA
I really enjoy your website and YouTube videos about reality
shifting and parallel universes. I think my husband and I have experienced
something like this, but I am not sure. All I know is that we are sort of
confused. Last night we watched on TV a two hour show in celebration of
Tony Bennett's 90th birthday. There were various singers performing, one of
them being Stevie Wonder. Both Marc and I swear that we recall Tony Bennett
turning 90 about two years ago. Plus, when Stevie Wonder came on and sang,
before he started both Marc and I remarked how Stevie doesn't sing well
anymore, so we hoped it wouldn't be too painful to listen to him. To our
amazement and confusion, Stevie sounded as good as he ever was in his
youth! So, we kind of have a double whammy here that we are totally
confused about. Would this constitute a reality shift, and if so are my
husband and I both in a different reality or are Tony Bennett and Stevie
Wonder in different realities? It all seems so bizarre. Best wishes. Please
keep making the videos! They are fascinating.
Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for writing to me about your
mystifying double whammy--in which you and your husband are remembering a
different history in which Tony Bennett turned 90 a couple of years ago,
and Stevie Wonder's voice wasn't nearly as good as it used to be. Noticing
differences like this does indeed sound like you're witnessing alternate
histories also known as "reality shifts"--with the recent popular name
"Mandela Effect." And most likely there are many other people who remember
the histories you are describing here, since they involve celebrities that
are on the peripheral awareness for many. I remember one of the two in your
double whammy--I remember Stevie Wonder's voice having become coarser,
without the expected charisma, richness of tone, smoothness and consistency
of being on key from his youth. So I just looked up a recent singing
performance of Stevie Wonder, who I see just had a Detroit street named
after him, and even though you'd just informed me he's sounding good again,
I was happy and surprised to hear it is true, and he looks more fit and in
better physical shape, too!
More Proof
David
Chico, California, USA
I was recently watching a 1995 episode of Wings entitled
"Tale of Two Sister Cities". Brian Hackett is talking to Roy Biggins about
a new product Roy is hocking "Rob's Kabobs" (like shish kabobs) Brian is
reading from the brochure and at 2 minutes, 27 seconds he reads, "If you
skewer it, they will come." Certainly, this is not proof, but it does show
how the quote was heard at that time. To my mind it reinforces the paradigm
shift. And with trump trying to nuke us all, other realities become more
and more appealing.
Note from Cynthia: Thanks for sharing the scene from the 1995
episode of Wings, "Tale of Two Sister Cities" which references similar
wording to what many of us recall from the movie "Field of Dreams," which
used to be "If you build it, they will come." Clearly this kabob marketing
blurb would make sense in the context of the dialogue in the alternate
history of "Field of Dreams" that seems to have reality shifted--and it
just seems tremendously unlikely that a brochure in a 1995 TV show would so
prominently mention something like, "If you skewer it, they will come,"
unless the writers were presuming most people would appreciate the similar
turn of phrase. And like most reality shifts and Mandela Effects, we don't
find physical "proof" or evidence, so much as evidence that other people
(like ourselves) remember those alternate histories, too.
The Vanishing Cheque
Raymund
I'd like to relate an intriguing experience which I
recently went through. While studying the Loa and some manifesting issues I
had decided to write out a cheque to myself placing it in between the pages
of a novel. The next day I discovered that the cheque had just vanished.
Well, the amount was rather considerable. I don't know, it could be a case
of a reality shift or maybe the Universe has accepted my request. Well, i
haven't yet been bestowed that sum but money flows easily to me, in my
reality. I do hope you'll have the time to comment on my experience. Warm
wishes and a heartful Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year
to you. Thanks for all the articles too.
Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for writing to me and sharing
this fascinating experience with the vanishing check! It sounds like this
is the first part of this particular teleporting item reality shift
experience, and I sincerely hope that at some point you notice the check
return to you. Sometimes I've noticed the return comes sooner when I feel a
deep sense of connection (from the heart and/or solar plexus) with the
missing item--yet such emotional feelings must be genuinely present, and
not merely intended. I'm glad to know that money flows easily to you, so
this particular missing check does not present a hardship during the time
it's (hopefully temporarily) gone missing. Please do let me know if and
when this missing cheque returns to you!
Dear Cynthia,
A couple of years ago during The Royal Wedding (William and Kate) while we
watched the event on the tv, mom recalled watching Princess Diana's funeral
with my dad when I was two years old (around 2001 or 2002 since I was born
on 1998). She vividly described that night -even telling me that she
remembered having buttered popcorn and cheap wine while she watched tv- and
the details about the funeral itself are exactly as it happened. But when I
googled Princess Diana it turns out she died on 1997, a year before I was
born. Then when I asked my father, he said he was visiting his sister in
Miami when that happened, and the year was 1997. I always thought my mom
was just confused but now that I've read about the Mándelas effect
makes me wonder if that is what is happening to my mom.
— Valeria
Dear Valeria,
Thank you for sharing this–and yes, the Mandela Effect could
certainly explain how your mom may recall a different reality.
I’d love to hear from others who may have also remember hearing
the news of Princess Diana having died at a different time than the current
official historical date of August 31, 1997.
Sincerely,
— Cynthia
___________
Dear Cynthia,
I belatedly read the Lincoln’s son item. Years ago I read of
Robert in a biography of Mary Todd Lincoln. In it he was portrayed as
stuck with the responsibility of a broken woman and sometimes rather cruel
from my perception. Can't recall the title, but Robert has been in the
picture for some time.
— Gervase
Dear Gervase,
Thank you for sharing this with me, and I believe you! What makes reality
shifts and Mandela Effects super intriguing to me is the way some people
notice something, such as Nelson Mandela having died while incarcerated,
while others (such as those close to him, and perhaps those living in South
Africa) do not. So reality shifts are not globally recognized, but rather
there are some people who notice, for example, that American Thanksgiving
used to always be on the 3rd Thursday of November, and now it's the last
Thursday--and there are some who insist it's always been the last Thursday
of November. In this case of Robert Lincoln, I read a marvelously detailed
biography of Abraham Lincoln about five years that was recommended to me
from a friend of mine who's now passed away. And in that book, I was struck
by feeling a wish that Lincoln had a son who'd survived into adulthood. So
I see there are some of us who remember back when reputable Lincoln
biographies didn't include Robert Lincoln, and some of us who always recall
Robert having been an important part of Abraham Lincoln's life. I'm really
intrigued by what you remember about Robert Lincoln (without going back to
the books to check it out), with such clear memories of his life situation.
Fascinating!
With love and thanks,
— Cynthia

Dr. Sadeghi's book, "The Art of Healthy Living" shares gems from his
personal experience as a physician, with insights he originally jotted down
in personal journals as signposts and reminders for himself. What makes
this book such a treasure is the simple way it's written that welcomes
readers to consider ways to shift awareness to adopt a new paradigm that
each of us is capable of re-envisioning ourselves and our relationships
with the world for optimal balance, wellbeing and health.
One of the central concepts in "The Art of Healthy Living" is that our mind
can be the main perpetrator behind disease, morbidity and mortality, so
that "consciously or not, by focusing on things that cause discomfort and
disease, we can actually manifest the physical characteristics that are in
line with those realities." Sadeghi quickly adds, "Naturally the reverse
can also hold true." How we envision ourselves to be--how we dream of
ourselves and our futures--plays a profoundly significant role in our
physical health. Tending to our dreams thus becomes job one for maintaining
good health.
Sadeghi describes how we actually live in a field of dreams, where we need
not struggle, but can rather learn to go with the flow. And within the
flow, Sadeghi urges us to "constantly dream of creating a better and more
exciting future." He explains, "When you dream of a brighter future, your
body will learn to stay healthy as long as it takes for you to create that
future."
Sadeghi presents the age-old secrets of healthy living with fresh insights,
encouraging us to be happy, hopeful, grateful, forgiving, pure, living in
the now, and to stop stressing ourselves out regarding outcomes. We can
recognize the glow of those embodying these qualities with excellent
health, and thus start to envision a return to such radiant state of being
for ourselves.
This book shares tips regarding how to utilize the power of affirmations,
intention, intuition, exercise, diet, breathing, color, sound, and light.
In much the way a good restaurant's menu can whet your appetite, "The Art
of Healthy Living" engages our imagination to live our best possible lives.
Highly recommended!
