"When you learn to listen and see what
is truly real, you will hear and see much more than your senses tell
you."
- from Karen
Kimball & the Dream Weaver's Web
News travels very quickly these days, and with so much shocking information
moving from all points of the world faster than ever before, it's possible
to feel a bit overwhelmed or even traumatized. There is a greater need than
ever for each of us to make time to slow down, heighten our sense of true
connection to nature and ourselves, and gain a deeper heartfelt
understanding of what is truly real. Such a practice of mindfulness is recently being
scientifically shown to help people respond to people and situations in
the present moment, rather than being triggered to react.
The key to becoming and remaining mindful and grounded lies in making time
to center oneself each day with a sense of what is happening right here,
right now. Even the simplest activities, such as waking up, breathing,
drinking, eating, and walking can be mindful. Bringing complete and full
attention to what is actually happening right here and now is a powerful
way to stay in responsive, rather than reactive, relationship with the
world and those around us. Matters that had seemed of great importance
suddenly take a back seat, as we can focus on telling loved ones how much
we care, and make time to show compassion, appreciation, and kindness in
everything we do. By reaching out to assist others, we benefit from the
knowledge that we live in a compassionate world; when we focus more on
kindness than proving we are right, we establish a sustainable basis for a
community we enjoy living in.
Japanese Phoenix
What a source of inspiration the Japanese people have been following the
terrible disasters this past month. I've been extremely impressed with the
degree of thoughtful consideration and cooperation shown by so many
Japanese people after the terrible earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crises
of the past month. Rather than focusing on selfish interests, people are
consistently staying focused on doing everything possible to share what
precious resources with neighbors and strangers as much as family and
friends. This is a time when much can be appreciated as long as one views
the world through wise eyes that see beyond the superficial to observe
unexpected and simple joys amidst earthquake aftershocks, rolling
blackouts, and resource shortages.
The recent crisis in Japan presents us with an opportunity to extend
support and assistance through prayer and donations. Spiritual jeweler
David Weitzman says he will donate all profits from the sale
of the Japanese Phoenix Pendant to Japanese
earthquake and tsunami survivors. David said he envisioned the design for
this beautiful pendant prior to the powerfully destructive disasters last
month. After the earthquake and tsuanmi hit, Weitzman knew the importance
of this very special design, which symbolizes rebirth, resurrection, and
hope.
The opening quote in this month's RealityShifters comes from my book, Karen
Kimball and the Dream Weaver's Web, a story about a ten-year-old girl
who discovers secrets of a lake at swim camp while developing abilities to
see and hear things ohers can't -- talking with animals and spirits,
affecting other peoples thoughts, and flying to hidden places. Karen
discovers ways to become mindful, in order to master her newfound abilities
in time to save the camp and her friends. Karen Kimball is now available in
paperback, Kindle, and ebook editions -- and is a great gift idea for
sensitive young people who can benefit from reading about a responsive,
mindful, proactive and compassionate heroine. Check it this beautiful new
book and look
inside the book today!

Teleseminar -- Is Consciousness Energy?
6 April 2011 at 5 pm Pacific, 6 pm Mountain, 7 pm Central, 8 pm EST
This one hour teleseminar looks really interesting -- this is a live
(free!) teleseminar happening April 6th
with Dr. Dean Radin and Christian de Quincy. What is consciousness? It's an
age-old question that still stretches the limits
of science. Is consciousness a form of energy? Christian de Quincey has
dedicated a career to exploring this puzzle — philosophy's
"hardest problem,"
science's "final frontier," and spirituality's "deepest mystery." Using the
Four
Gifts of Knowing, he guides us into this perennial mystery. Join Dr. de
Quincey
to explore different theories of consciousness, how mind and body are
related,
and how consciousness can make things happen in the physical world. http://www.noetic.org/events/2011/4/is-consciousness-energy/

Scientists Seek to Treat Chronically Traumatized
Brains
by Scott Johnson
Oakland Tribune
30 March 2011
Bessel van der Kolk, president of the International Society for Traumatic
Stress Studies, conducted a study to track differences between chronically
traumatized and otherwise normal brains. The brain, he surmised, held the
key to both the roots and the treatment for severe trauma. "This study
changed my whole understanding of what trauma is about," van der Kolk said.
"Trauma was no longer about something that happened a long time ago, it was
about being unable to fully engage with the present. Nothing new was coming
into the brain." Traumatic experiences leave an imprint in the central part
of the brain called the medial prefrontal cortex, which helps regulate our
relationship to ourselves -- to self-reflect and self-observe, and to
establish social relationships with others. A number of recent scientific
case studies indicate mindfulness can help trauma victims, as it is
associated with developing the kinds of positive social and emotional
experiences trauma victims typically lack. http://www.mercurynews.com/rss/ci_17719757
I was seated and meditating, then began practicing forming mental balls of
green healing light and sent one sailing off Eastward after speaking that
it
was for my sister. It obediently departed thence. Gleefully I formed
another and spoke 'now one for my brother' and it sailed off Westward.
Satisfied with myself, I began waking when I heard the voice often heard at
that stage, which said "suddenly he becomes our clairvoyant". I began to
consider that prospect, then announced "I'm not sure I want my development
to proceed in that direction. I would need some sign of support." Whereupon
I heard a loud bang, something like dropping a heavy book about four feet.
I opened my eyes, as I had been meditating.
Searching for the cause, I found no holes in the wall or ceiling. Nothing
fallen from high places. Nothing broken. Then my gaze fell upon the center
of the kitchen table, previously bare, where I saw what appeared to be a
ball of mud, a bit over an inch in diameter. It glistened with a film of
moisture oozing out. I then studied it from every angle, and it seemed to
be
just barely touching the table. Scrutinizing it closely, I was able
to see that
no moisture was on the table beneath it, and no fingerprints were on
it
before I touched it, and it had no flat bottom from its own weight
on the table.
The words 'held in a field' came to mind.
Finally, I picked it up and inspected it closely. The perfect sphere showed
no signs of flattening from its own weight upon some surface, and nothing
else but the effects of my own fingertips. I held it under the
faucet and washed the mud away, to discover in its center a child's marble
-
it's own surface marked with minute scratches showing usage. Then holding
it
up to the light - it was clear with imbedded therein two rose-colored disks
at right angles intersecting each other. I marveled upon discovering that
when held so as to look along their common axis, they made a rose colored
cross! A bit later, with exhilaration, I telephoned the Rosicrucian
organization in California and asked if this was some method they were
using
for recruitment. I was told "No, but then God works in mysterious ways!" Of
course I have kept the marble as a talisman.
My feelings at the time were first playful [sending healing balls], then
curious as I looked for the sound-cause and found the marble, then
awestruck as I examined it more closely and objectively. Afterward I felt a
deep satisfaction that I had indeed been given my sign.
Note from Cynthia:I love this story so very much because I've
also experienced a manifestation of something appearing right in front of
me on a couple of different occasions, and in both of these experiences, I
had been meditating at the time. On one occasion a tooth my daughter had
lost at school earlier in the day appeared in front of me (I was alone in
my bedroom at the time), and on another occasion I was painting an energy
portrait of a woman and describing the crystalline clarity of love in her
heart as she and I both witnessed a crystal appear out of thin air and land
exactly on the section of the painting where I was drawing the energy of
her heart. If these things had not happened to me, I would probably be
quite skeptical that objects can manifest "out of thin air" before our very
eyes.

Okay, so I am not sure about losing keys, etc. being a reality shift,
though I
have had some things that seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. I
decided to ask for testing of this theory. Prayed, meditated. Lost an
object,
but... Then I did a load of laundry one day. I decided to add this large
blue
washcloth to the light laundry. I remember this quite well, since I debated
about
whether or not it would bleed, and then tossed it in with the other stuff.
When I was taking
everything out, I noticed my husband's pant's pocket was heavy. I was
puzzled,
thinking I had taken out the contents, the handkerchief, before washing it.
I pulled it out (it was
not easy to get out), and saw it was the blue washcloth, crammed in there.
How easy
could it be for such a thing to insert itself into a pocket during a
washcycle?
I had paid particular attention to it, wondering whether or not to
add it to the load. For it to end up crammed into a pants pocket was
strange to me. I have had laundry tangled up every which way,
but never shoved into a pants pocket. Normally, the pants
were not easy to get even a handkerchief out of before washing. This
washcloth was bulky. It was difficult for me to pull it out before drying.
No one else could have interfered with the laundry, since I was alone at
home. Barring the possibility of my being senile and doing it myself, I
would say it was quite strange. I do think it is an important point that I
was seeking validation or not, of this kind of reality shift.
Would you say I caused the washcloth to insert itself into the
pocket for whatever reason - say I want to believe that such an
incident is a reality shift? If so, then I wish I
could do something useful with such a gift. Or would you say this is
a collective phenomenon, which reveals itself in times that are appropriate
or favorable for such a revelation to occur (leading
the human race upward, or to question reality)?
Note from Cynthia:This story of the washcloth-crammed-into-pocket
is indeed strange, and in my decades of laundry experience, noteworthy and
significant. In all the loads of laundry I've done, no such thing has ever
happened, and I regularly run loads of washcloths with pants-with-pockets.
Ruling out someone interfering with the load of laundry to cram the
washcloth into the pants pocket, I'd say this definitely is a reality shift
experience... based on the fact that such things ordinarily do not occur.
Regarding the how and why of the occurrence... I do believe it's sufficient
that you'd just recently been reading and thinking about reality shifts,
with an open mind to witnessing them. It seems to me that people in general
are experiencing reality shifts in greater numbers than before.

(5) Reality Shifting Q and A / Mail
Bag
Regarding "alive again" -
if that person or animal has died in one parallel universe, does
their soul/spirit (or part of it) go to a "spirit realm" in a parallel
universe? My point being that: do the higher vibrating dimensions also have
parallels, as well as the physical universe? I think a lot about this- the
physical world as we know it is made of atoms, so I guess that the higher
dimensions are composed of atoms as well but of a different structure? It
also intrigues me that, in some worlds, someone possibly isn't born, yet
they exist in another world. I am also certain that I saw Larry Hagman's
death announced on Ceefax some years ago; today, "Columbo" was on and I
once thought that Peter Falk had died, but he hasn't. Best wishes,
Jacqui
Dearest Jacqui, That's a good question regarding the relationship of spirit to
parallel universes. My intuitive sense of this is that on the spiritual
levels, we are all one... across parallel worlds, alternate realities, and
other dimensions of existence. To the degree that we are typically
consciously aware of only one (or possibly a few) realities at any given
time, our spirit is extended further than our consciousness usually goes.
Sometimes we can get glimpses of other possibilities, and this seems to me
to be one of the main reasons we dream... so we may better weave together
possible futures and possible pasts. lots of love,
Cynthia

Scientific evidence exists for telepathy, clairvoyance,
precognition, psychokinesis & psychic healing... and it's fun to watch!
Film-maker Renée Scheltema set out to find explanations for some
seemingly inexplicable experiences she and her daughter encountered,
treating us to a fairly comprehensive summary of some of the most current
scientific findings in the field of consciousness today.
This documentary brings us into the homes and offices of some of the
world's most thoughtful and well-spoken authors and visionaries who earn a
living exploring the place where science and spirit meet... a place which
can at times be frustrating to accurately describe, as its very existence
challenges us to expand previous limits and boundaries of our ways of
sensing, thinking, and knowing what is true. Interviews with Edgar
Mitchell, Dr. Larry Dossey, Dean Radin, Hal Puthoff, Charles Tart, Rupert
Sheldrake, Gary Schwartz, Jack Houck, Nancy Myer, Erik Pearl and Arielle
Ford are artfully interspersed with footage depicting what is being
discussed.
I love the way this film includes footage of Oscar the cat, who knows when
people are about to die, and John of God in Brazil, conducting psychic
surgeries and miraculous healing. Examples are shown of remote viewing,
spoon bending, dogs who know when their owners are coming home, people
proving experimentally that they can correctly guess twice as well as mere
chance would allow who is calling them on the phone, and people reacting in
advance to pictures they have not yet viewed. I loved seeing the PEAR
(Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research) experiments, and some of the
current work being done at IONS (the Institute of Noetic Sciences).
While a precise explanation for "What is going on here?" may still elude
us, this film includes some possible theories such as Rupert Sheldrake's
concept of morphogenic fields, and zero point energy. There indeed seems to
be some kind of mechanism allowing for "emotional futures to leak
backward," as Dean Radin observes, and each and every one of us has access
to the tools such as meditation, dreaming, and dancing that allow us to
focus and then release our attention in ways that allow unconscious psychic
senses to come forward into our consciousness, so we can experience how it
feels to transcend time and space.
Viewing this amazing movie left me feeling tremendously uplifted, inspired,
and energized. This is a DVD to share with family, friends, and everyone
who may not realize just how much evidence exists for telepathy,
clairvoyance, precognition, psychokinesis and psychic healing. Truly
fabulous!
Jen Reich's poems touch the reader's heart through their
simplicity, wonder, and heartfelt depth. States of Faith uplifts as it
inspires, with each poem framed with beautiful descriptions of what was
going on in the world and in Jen's life at the time it was written. Each
poem in this anthology shines with tender grace and strength. Collectively,
these poems provide healing through the honest acceptance of self and the
world, and reverent awareness of the many miracles we are blessed with in
life.
States of Faith is a soothing book at times of doubt or crisis, as well as
the perfect gift for anyone going through times of challenging transition.
This book is deeply soothing and nurturing with a light and tender touch,
like golden rays of sunshine beaming through the window on a cold and rainy
day.
This page-turner memoir of a martial arts master transported
me to another world of arranged marriages and people living in great
poverty off whatever food the land and sea had to provide on the small
Korean island of Koje Do. Choon Ok's mother kept her family alive through
extraordinarily difficult times with little to no help from her father,
always working to do her best for her family, no matter the personal risks
to herself. Choon Ok's mother had an dangerous job as a 'mermaid' or
'haenyo,' diving without wetsuit or oxygen tank to fish in the sea through
all weather and seasons... even in winter when icicles formed in her hair.
Additional hardships for Choon Ok's family included losing all their
possessions twice, once during a voyage at sea after the end of the
Japanese occupation of Korea, and again when a typhoon struck their island,
destroying their home.
Choon Ok's life took a dramatic turn when her father died, giving her
mother the opportunity to move off the island to mainland Korea, where new
opportunities (and hazards) awaited. The most life-changing opportunity for
Choon Ok was her discovery of the Korean martial art, Kuk Sool Won. Choon
Ok overcame numerous obstacles to pursue her martial arts studies, and
thanks to tireless practice and tremendous commitment to her studies, she
became highly skilled doing something that helped her and her loved ones
live a better life. It was not common for a young woman to become a
thoroughly dedicated martial arts student, nor did most people expect that
such a small young woman could so fully defend herself, and Choon Ok proved
her martial arts proficiency again and again.
What makes this memoir so remarkable is the way it so clearly describes the
dramatic changes to Choon Ok's life from such impoverished beginnings to
experiencing a whole new life as a well respected martial artist in Korea,
and then in an entirely new country, America, where women lead lives they
choose. In a few short decades, Choon Ok's experience of the world was
entirely transformed, primarily due to her tremendous resolve to dedicate
her life to continuing her studies of Kuk Sool Won in America. Choon Ok's
grace and grit when dealing with a variety of challenges, such as
overcoming a kind of dyslexia that prevented her from learning movements
quickly or easily is remarkable. Her faith in those she most respects and
believes in, such as the grandmaster of Kuk Sool Won, In Hyuk Suh, proved
to be well placed and transformative in many positive ways.
"Iron Butterfly" is the most engaging, intriguing and inspirational memoir
I've ever read. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in improving
their life or pursuing their dreams, especially when it seems others don't
understand or support their vision. As Master Harmon demonstrates by the
shining example of her life, we can strengthen ourselves by consistently
choosing to develop inner character based on qualities of courage and
commitment, rather than surrendering to fears, doubts, criticism, or blame.
We are able to be and do much more than we ever imagine, and our choice to
nurture and develop our character and skills through dedication and hard
work can change our lives for the better in amazing, wonderful ways.
