I just returned from Las Vegas where I thoroughly enjoyed being a guest on Steve and Barbara Rother's Virtual Light Broadcast television show, which you can view online whenever you wish. We talked about reality shifts, energy fields, retrocausality, and the timely issue of what we can do to help alleviate global warming. I always love talking about reality shifts, and this interview was particularly fun because spending time with Steve and Barbara Rother felt like time spent with true family... people who genuinely support and encourage everyone around them to shine their brightest and be their best.

While time spent with true family is usually quite rewarding, there can sometimes be occasions when we don't see eye-to-eye, when differing views of what's going on cause friction in the relationships. Several people wrote to me this past month about a kind of reality shift involving different opinions about what was said, and these 'unspoken words' are the reality shifts described in this issue of the ezine. Reality shifts involving unspoken words occur when one person hears another person say something that they know for sure they did not say. This kind of reality shift was the subject of a paper I co-authored with anthropologist Anne Menne, called When Worlds Collide: How Parallel Realities Can Heal Personal Relationships. It's good to know that even when two people believe that two completely different things occurred, it's still possible for both versions of reality to be correct.

One the world's brightest physicists, Stephen Hawking, believes we live in a universe of many realities, as he stated this past month in a paper he co-authored on a 'top-down cosmology' theory in which all possible realities co-existed at the beginning of our universe. To get your mind around this concept, just recall a time when you solved a math problem by working backwards from the answer... since knowing the answer makes it much easier to figure out what to do along the way. This handshake between the future and the past in a multiverse that navigates a range of infinite possibilities occasionally introduces overlap in present time as we move toward the most desirable solution. Hawking's cutting-edge theory therefore helps to explain why we so often notice traces of more than just one primary reality at any given time... since those co-existing traces of various parallel realities are precisely the expected side-effects we would expect to find when working backwards from a desired future end point. Physicist Daniel Sheehan summarized the sentiment of a growing number of physicists a couple of weeks ago at a physics symposium on reverse causation in San Diego, "The present is always a negotiation between the past and the future." And this on-going negotiation between past and future means that as we collectively hold differing visions of the best possible world, we notice occasional evidence of other realities co-existing in this one in any given present moment.

So how is the most desired endpoint selected? We humans play a very big role that, as it's clear that the miracle of our very existence is something of a huge statistical improbability... meaning that we are creating the world as we hold and share ideal visions of our future in our shared intent. Hawking and Hertog say that all the alternative universes of string theory may have actually existed together in the first few instants after the Big Bang. At this time, the universe was in a "superposition" of all these possible worlds. However, most of these universes then quickly faded away to leave behind our present-day universe. By tracing our universe back from the present to the past, we can ignore most of other branches that the universe took because they are too different from the current universe.

While reverse causation (also called backward or retro-causation) may sound like science fiction, it is firmly grounded in classical laws of physics. These laws say time is symmetrical, that it moves -- or should be able to move -- in all directions with equal ease. Case in point: electromagnetism, one of the four fundamental forces of nature. (The others are gravity and strong and weak nuclear force.)

What do movies and TV shows like Just Like Heaven, Indigo, Tru Calling, The Matrix, Frequency, Wonderfalls, Dark City, Sliders, The Lathe of Heaven, Sliding Doors and Passion of Mind have in common? I DIDN'T ASK FOR EGGS... BUT PEOPLE SAY I DID

I recently went to pick up my raw milk and cream, when something unusual happened. I was in line, and girl at the table looked at me and went to the back of the truck and came back and said, "We are out of eggs." I replied, " I didn't ask for eggs, just my milk and cream." She looked puzzled, as three people behind me said, "You asked for eggs." I took that as a sign I needed eggs in my diet.

It was certainly a "head scratcher" most of that day. I rarely eat meat; only dab of chicken or seafood every so often, so I was probably needing some protein. As I told my husband Jay, I would have bet money I didn't say "eggs," but since there were witnesses saying otherwise, I conceded to the event as described.

Excerpted from Reality Shifts: When Consciousness Changes the Physical World

I've experienced another kind of reality shift in which a person I'm talking to either hears me say something I definitely know I did not say, or I hear them say something they know they did not say.

I was walking to see a movie with my husband one day in 1997 when he remarked "there's a bathroom here in this diner... you can use the bathroom here". I assured him that I didn't think I even needed to use the bathroom, and he told me that I'd told him that I did just a few minutes before. I certainly didn't recall saying anything of the sort, and furthermore, I really didn't feel like I needed to use the bathroom! After a little more grumbling, I decided to be a good sport and go to the bathroom, where I discovered with great surprise that I actually did need to use the bathroom after all because my period was starting! I wondered why my husband had been so certain I had told him I needed to use the bathroom when I not only had no memory of any such conversation, but didn't even think that I needed to use the bathroom. I was deeply impressed by this incident, because I know how observant and reliable my husband is... so if he tells me I said something, then I believe that he heard me say it. I also know for sure that I did not say anything about needing to use the bathroom.

A similar incident occurred with me and my older daughter at Disneyland in February 1998 when I pointed out a bathroom to her, because just a few minutes earlier she had looked me in the eyes and told me she needed to use the bathroom. She stopped in her tracks, astonished, and asked me, "How do you know I need to use the bathroom?!" I told her she'd just told me she did, and she replied she definitely did not! I told her how dramatically she'd spoken to me, pulling me aside by the paddleboat steamship to tell me in confidence that at the next possible opportunity, she wanted to use the bathroom. This was a highly memorable conversation to me, yet when I reminded her of how we'd just been standing over by the paddleboat talking, she had no memory of that at all! I believed her when she told me, "We never talked about that!", and I gained a whole new insight into what had happened to me at the diner bathroom with my husband.

My husband had definitely heard me say I needed to use the bathroom... even though I know I did not say anything of the sort to him. I now found myself on the other side of the experience of the unspoken words with my older daughter, which allowed me to more fully see the experience from both sides.

Your story is both amazing and intriguing, I had an indescribable yet powerful feeling whilst listening to you almost as if my body was heating up. The reason I wanted to write to you was because I also was left disappointed. I felt that throughout the interview you were constantly 'cut off'. I don't mean any disrespect to Steve or Barbara. I have followed their work for many years and know they do a wonderful and beautiful thing, although for me this particular interview was 'interupted' at certain points, it didn't flow & you were not given opportunity to finish what you had started saying. This is a real shame because I was so enjoying what you had to say. Maybe this was by design, as it certainly piqued my interest and as soon as I was home I was logged on looking up your website. What a wonderful surprise, so much information, so much love - where does one begin? So the reason I am writing is to ask for an opportunity to hear how these stories end. Your gift from your future self, the divine intervention you recieved, your childhood and understanding death, what you instinctively knew. This is truly moving stuff and I can feel my heart chakra stir just writing this. Are these wonderful stories on your website to be found? (as I've only discovered your site today & with a very active 9 month old baby it will take a while for the opportunity to look around so I apologise if they are). If not, could you please include these because I'm certain that there are many others who will be drawn to your web site after listening to the show who would like to hear more about these things also.
