Benefit from Mind-Matter Interaction

"Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the life-long attempt to acquire it."
- Albert Einstein (to J. Dispentiere – March 24, 1954)

Thanks to everyone who has taken time to express appreciation for my 16th year of publishing RealityShifters. I can vouch for the fact that time definitely does fly when you’re having fun, as it’s hard for me to believe we’ve been sharing this journey to explore mind-matter interaction together (also known as reality shifts, quantum jumping, or glitches in the matrix) for sixteen years! To celebrate, here are some of my personal favorite RealityShifters issues and articles since 1999:

“Dean
Dean Radin and Cynthia Sue Larson at IONS in June 2002
So where are we now compared with sixteen years ago? When RealityShifters first began in October 1999, there were no spiritual life coaches listed on the internet—nor were there any websites dedicated to sharing first-hand reports of witnessing things and people appearing, disappearing, transporting and transforming, as well as changes in the experience of time. Such reports were not considered typical back in 1999, and people finding RealityShifters frequently wrote to me expressing joy and gratitude at finding they were not alone in experiencing discontinuities in physical reality.

In addition to my having published 180 issues of the monthly RealityShifters ezine and having written six books and a meditation CD, these past sixteen years have brought some remarkable scientific advances in better understanding the interaction between consciousness and the physical world. Here are a few scientific discoveries I find noteworthy that have occurred since the first issue of RealityShifters was published in October 1999:

Quantum Jumps Audiobook
Many of these news announcements listed above are ones mentioned in past issues of RealityShifters and in my books: Aura Advantage, Reality Shifts, High Energy Money, and Quantum Jumps. As we can see from this summary of breakthroughs, we are slowly and surely gaining a better understanding of both the nature of consciousness and the nature of reality. Those of us who have experienced discontinuous changes in physical reality notice that we see more such shifts in reality and quantum jumps the more we pay attention to such things, which indicates a clear connection between our thoughts, feelings and our experience of the physical world.

At this time when the world’s leading skeptic, Michael Shermer, shares an inexplicable anomalous experience, and our most recent Super Bowl winners, the Seattle Seahawks, credit daily meditation for the amazing way players were in exactly the right place at the right time, mind-matter interaction enjoys some well-deserved media attention. Placebo research studies are being financially backed to the tune of millions of dollars, and the number of Americans meditating has now reached 8% of the populace, according to a 2012 report by the American Psychological Association.

There is a thread running through my list of favorite RealityShifters issues and articles and my list of news of scientific breakthroughs in the field of mind-matter interaction, and that is that a great deal of the discontinuities we observe in the form of: synchronicity, spontaneous remissions, broken appliances working just fine, buildings and other things appearing and disappearing, dead people and animals being noted alive again, and all the other possible variations on discontinuities being observed in physical reality can be explained with new theories and experimental evidence from fields in quantum physics, quantum biology, quantum astronomy, quantum statistics, and quantum consciousness. We’re truly entering the Quantum Age, when our collective ability to comprehend the seemingly strange, spooky qualities of reality existing as possibilities can finally be understood on a personally meaningful level.

My biggest news this year is that I am thrilled to now have three of my best-selling books in audiobook form, including: Quantum Jumps: An Extraordinary Science of Happiness and Prosperity, Reality Shifts: When Consciousness Changes the Physical World, and RealityShifters Guide to High Energy Money.

Quantum Jumping Tip:
You're Bigger than Any Situation

As children, we intrinsically know the joy and value of going beyond ourselves, every time we get the chance to play. When children play, there’s an implicit understanding that all is happening in a spirit of good fun, and even when playing games with "good guys" and "bad guys," there’s a sense that at the end of the day, regardless what happened in the game, everything’s just fine. Children know they are much bigger than the games they are playing, so a fresh start is possible every day. This sense of wellbeing comes from the realization that as engaging as games can be, they are just games. We are bigger than any game, any problem, any situation. And in being bigger, we can see solutions to problems from a bigger-picture point of view. One technique that is a regular part of my most successful experiences with reality shifts and quantum jumps is remembering that awareness is always larger than any given situation–that through remembering this, and through identifying with being awareness, solutions always present themselves naturally. You can see illustrations of what this kind of topography looks like if you read theoretical physics papers written by Yasunori Nomura and Raphael Bousso with Leonard Susskind, showing how the Many Worlds of the quantum realm are one and the same as the expanding multiverse. When we expand our awareness to observe larger areas, we are capable of interacting in a more expansive way that recognizes positive opportunities we are entangled with through the many possible worlds. This tip for improving your reality shifting and quantum jumping experiences is a meditation in three parts.

Top 5 Quantum Jumping Myths
— Busted!

Gauging by some of the comments and questions I hear about reality shifts and quantum jumps, there is a fair bit of confusion about exactly what might be in store for someone contemplating making a quantum jump. Some recent reviews posted for Quantum Jumps at amazon indicate there are some pretty big misunderstandings about what it’s all about. Let’s take a look at the top myths about quantum jumps, and get some clarification about what’s going on. MYTH #1: Quantum Jumps Only Occur in the Quantum Realm. This misconception apparently comes about from the belief by some that the phrase “quantum jump” has been misappropriated, and resides only in the domain of quantum physics. As with many phrases in the English language, including many scientific concepts, what starts out meaning only one thing can often end up meaning much more. Some concepts are much more central than others, and can thus be expected to be encountered far beyond where they were originally intended. Dr. Warren Nagourney of the University of Washington described the palpable excitement felt by the teams of physicists who first witnessed quantum jumps with their own eyes, "You have to hold yourself steady and look for minutes at a time, and then you’ll see it switch. You see the trapped ion blinking on and off, and each blink is a quantum jump. It’s a striking illustration that things occur discontinuously in nature." While it’s true that in 1986 when the above observations were made, the quantum jumps being referred to were only those of quantum particles, there has been progress since then in terms of increasing numbers of physicists coming around to believe, as growing numbers of physicists including UC Berkeley University's Raphael Bousso and Stanford University's Leonard Susskind assert in their 2011 paper published in High Energy Physics, "the many worlds of quantum mechanics and the many worlds of the multiverse are the same thing, and that the multiverse is necessary to give exact operational meaning to probabilistic predictions from quantum mechanics."

(4) Your Reality Shift Stories

Church Founded in 1704 Appears
Terri
Schenectady, New York, USA

I just experienced a reality shift driving down a street I've passed a million times. A church founded in 1704 that seems really strange I'd never noticed it before. Thought maybe it was just me, but my husband who grew up in the area and is certainly way more familiar with the area than I confirmed never having seen that building before.

Note from Cynthia: Very cool! Seeing structures suddenly present in familiar settings where they are not remembered ever having been before is one of the better indications that one has "walked between possible worlds" and encountered alternate histories. Such alternate histories can involve a several-hundred-year-old building either having survived all those years intact--or not.

Couple Sees Strange House Appear and Disappear
Sierra Vista, Arizona, USA
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/568316/20141001/ufo-sighting-arizona-oddly-shaped.org#.VCyeKS_4qUM

A couple from Arizona, claimed to have seen a house that strangely appeared and then disappeared in December 2012. Describing the incident, the couple said that they had noticed the house that looked like a "single-wide mobile home," in an open field across the street at 9:45 one evening, stating, "We were surprised to see a house." The field where the structure appeared is completely fenced, with nothing having been there for years. The house appeared to have a door with windows on each side that were brightly lit, though the house appeared to be unoccupied. "We sat there discussing how odd it was that we never saw it being moved in or how quickly electricity seemed to be hooked up but shook it off and went to bed." The next day, the couple were further surprised to see no signs whatsoever of a house having been there the day before, and they have no idea how the house could have been brought in there.

Note from Cynthia: This report was brought to my attention by Wendy Garrett. Just as we can witness signs of alternate histories when we hear about someone having died who remember having died many years earlier, so too can we see evidence of alternate histories and possible realities when we witness people, cars, houses and other things appear and then disappear again. These are precisely the type of Quantum Jumps and Reality Shifts I've been writing about and sharing first-hand accounts of for the past 16 years!

Broken Antique Radio Plays on Wedding Day
Michael Shermer
Beverly Hills, California, USA
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/anomalous-events-that-can-shake-one-s-skepticism-to-the-core/

Philips 070 Transistor Radio
Often I am asked if I have ever encountered something that I could not explain. What my interlocutors have in mind are not bewildering enigmas such as consciousness or U.S. foreign policy but anomalous and mystifying events that suggest the existence of the paranormal or supernatural. My answer is: yes, now I have. The event took place on June 25, 2014. On that day I married Jennifer Graf, from Koln, Germany. She had been raised by her mom; her grandfather, Walter, was the closest father figure she had growing up, but he died when she was 16. In shipping her belongings to my home before the wedding, most of the boxes were damaged and several precious heirlooms lost, including her grandfather's binoculars. His 1978 Philips 070 transistor radio arrived safely, so I set out to bring it back to life after decades of muteness. I put in new batteries and opened it up to see if there were any loose connections to solder. I even tried "percussive maintenance," said to work on such devices—smacking it sharply against a hard surface. Silence. We gave up and put it at the back of a desk drawer in our bedroom. Three months later, after affixing the necessary signatures to our marriage license at the Beverly Hills courthouse, we returned home, and in the presence of my family said our vows and exchanged rings. Being 9,000 kilometers from family, friends and home, Jennifer was feeling amiss and lonely. She wished her grandfather were there to give her away. She whispered that she wanted to say something to me alone, so we excused ourselves to the back of the house where we could hear music playing in the bedroom. We don't have a music system there, so we searched for laptops and iPhones and even opened the back door to check if the neighbors were playing music. We followed the sound to the printer on the desk, wondering—absurdly—if this combined printer/scanner/fax machine also included a radio. Nope.

Note from Cynthia: I'm grateful to see Michael Shermer, founder of The Skeptics Society, and Editor in Chief of its magazine Skeptic, publicly reporting having experienced an anomalous incident! He published this article a couple of weeks ago in Scientific American, about an inexplicable incident that he personally witnessed at his wedding.

(5) Questions and Answers

Greetings,
I just stumbled onto your site after days, month and years of randomly searching for ways to change the past. Through the years I've come to the realization that I might not ever be able to change the past so certain things I have come to terms with. Yet after reading your post about reality shifting and changing the past I was stuck on the part where you mentioned your cat Ashes. Yet I do not want to bring back a loved one. It would be great if I could but that is something I do not want to dwell on, no matter how bad I wish they were still here. I was just amazed at the power of reality shifting and how it can greatly change the present entirely, even shifting past death and for your current present to reap the benefits of the changed past. My main concern is going back and giving my past self some advice to avoid easily avoidable mistakes. Like I said, certain mistakes I have made I have come to terms with. I see them as life lessons that make me more aware of how easy things can go wrong and how great it is to have a family that is a supportive foundation to help get through things. I wish I could have lived a mistake-free life but some mistakes I have learned to appreciate I suppose. I'm looking to give my past self some advice, possibly change my mindset about a few things. My thing is, how exactly would I go back to influence the past and my past-self? What books, posts etc., should I read? I know you made a post on your site about this but a bit more detailed information would be great. Another question, can I go back into my past to give advice to another, for instance my brother? My brother is currently going through something that I could possibly warn him about. I'm not sure if he'd listen, but I would like to give it a try if I could. Also, how far in the past is it possible to change? Can things in my younger years be changed? I apologize for this long email. I find your posts to be truly amazing and interesting. And I would love to learn from you to better my life.
-- Co

Dear Co,
Thanks so much for your lovely email! With regard to your queries about changing the past, I don't know the full extent of how far back such things are possible, nor can I guarantee results in changing events from the past. What I do as a life coach working with clients is to teach skills in accessing your true self--which is awareness--in order that you can best enjoy and appreciate all aspects of your life. The true key to awareness is being in the present moment, and from such awareness it is then possible to access knowingness and appreciation of connecting and communicating with others through time and space. This is akin to shamanic work, and though simple to describe, it requires practice in meditative awareness to develop proficiency. My books don't specialize in how to change the past, per se, as much as they provide guidance in recognizing first of all that you are awareness (beyond energy and material form), and secondly that when you recognize this truth and raise your energy while focusing on desired realities, you can experience them. My two books which you would find most useful in this regard are Reality Shifts and Quantum Jumps:

Hi there.
I just read your article on quantum jumping and wondered if you wouldn’t mind answering a question for me. I found it quite similar to the law of attraction technique that we have been reading about. Recently my husband and I have realized it has been working as a few things we wished for came true, and we are planning to take it further by focusing on wealth. I mentioned to my husband that I would like to move down to California if we get wealthy. He said that was a ‘coincidence’ as he had a vivid vision a while back in which I was standing in a red dress on the staircase of a large home in California. I think he glimpsed a possible future as he has had these types of visions before that happened to come true. Anyhow, I was intending to focus on this outcome and try to bring it about. (I hate the cold weather where we are). The question I have though is, by bringing in this new reality, I am also affecting my children’s lives. I am concerned as I feel I am making the decision for 5 other people, not just me. What if the reality they would prefer is to stay here and things to stay the same? I’m wondering if it is selfish of me to bring this about if that is the case? I guess one would say there is another me staying here too. I am sure it is what me and my husband want, but how can one be sure it’s what everyone involved would want too? Thanks for your time, I’d welcome your input if you can.
- Rachael

Dear Rachael,
Thanks for writing to me with this question! One way to step back and get a bigger picture view is to realize that possible futures exist as probabilities. These are not merely mathematical or purely imaginary probabilities, but they are very real, and capable of being experienced. You can feel entangled with these possible realities to the degree you feel emotionally involved with them. Sometimes you might, for example, feel you've "left my heart in San Francisco," with such a strong pull to a place that you can feel your heart ache. You can also at the same time feel pulled to those you love with an associated draw to stay close to where they are. When we feel pulled in different directions, we can sometimes most clearly get glimpses of what life would be like in a different city, or with a different job, or different spouse. When you get to know who you truly are in the form of a deep sense of inner awareness--not your thoughts, and not your emotions per se, but rather that part of you who observes your thoughts and feelings--then you can be fully aligned, and no longer feel torn in different directions. Obtaining such a sense of true self is possible through meditation, or working with a spiritual life coach, and when in such a state of mind, the decisions you make will be ones you feel resonate fully with who you really are, rather than who you are trying to be in order to please others. When you are true to your authentic self, whatever you choose is selected from a place of your being true to you, and this genuineness is not selfish, but rather is in harmony with everyone and everything else.
lots of love,
- Cynthia

Hey,
I'm stepping into an enlightened state of mind and I saw your video the day after I wanted to know more about reality shifting. I was wondering how you go about doing it because I want my life to change and I keep getting off track and slowing the process down. Any advice?
- Deron

Dear Deron,
My recommendation for what to start doing right away is begin some kind of meditation practice. Meditation makes positive changes in your brain, and allows you to make the necessary switch to mindful awareness that allows you to move between physical realities. What moves is your awareness--your consciousnes--so finding a meditation that allows you to experience your true identity as awareness is necessary. Here is a simple way to find which kind of meditation is best for you:
What Meditation Is Best for You?
http://realityshifters.com/pages/articles/whatmeditationisbest.html
Once you've started meditating on a daily basis, even just for a few minutes a day, you have laid the foundation for making positive changes in your life as I describe in my books, Quantum Jumps, Reality Shifts, and Aura Advantage.
lots of love,
- Cynthia

Radical Relationship Resource:
A Guide for Repairing, Letting Go, or Moving On

by Dr. Carol Morgan and Dick Sutphen
An Essential Resource for Everyone
http://amzn.to/1xD6Ei3

Don’t let the title of this book confuse you; this isn’t just a great reference for figuring out what’s going wrong for people in desperate relationship situations (though it is excellent for that)—this book’s ambitious objective is to assist you in whatever stage of relationship you may encounter. Wonder what to do if someone’s stalking you? Or how to handle a jealous lover? All of this and much, much more is answered. One of the best features of Radical Relationship Resource are the “radical viewpoints” given in response to the top 25 relationship complaints of relationship demise. These complaints cover a wide territory, and are credited as being the main reasons people end relationships. For each complaint, common causes are explored, the general popular viewpoint is described, and then the radical viewpoint is explained. So how are these different viewpoints helpful? It’s easiest to get a sense for the genius of this system by looking at the relatively common problem of jealousy and possessiveness. This happens to be complaint number 20, and for some couples, this one’s a doozy. The common causes of a fearful person becoming defensive and attempting to control their partner because they were raised with high expectations, don’t know how to cope with limitations, and compare themselves to others, finding themselves lacking. The general viewpoint sees how anyone attempting to control or hang onto someone is futile, since jealousy and possessiveness destroy respect and trust in relationships. The radical viewpoint explains that jealous people are themselves possessed, and are slaves to their own illusions about life, pushing their partner away. As much as I love this handbook-in-a-book for troubleshooting relationship issues, this book really takes off in the next section, devoted to relationship maintenance and repair. Written in a down-to-Earth manner, with one concept per page, this book is easy to flip through, to find such brilliant relationship suggestions as “Don’t argue with feelings,” “Totally Commit,” and “Strive for Unconditional Love.” And because this really is a comprehensive relationship resource, there is another wonderful section entirely devoted to letting go and moving on, so you really do move onward and upward, rather than continue feeling like you’re still making the same mistakes. There is a touch of a new age feel to this book, with mention of past lives, feng shui, and karma, which I personally find quite enjoyable. Some of the most radical of these are placed in the very back section of the book, where you can explore automatic writing, handling psychic attacks, your future lives and soul switching if you’re feeling especially adventurous! Highly recommended!

“Neurotic's

The Neurotic's Guide to Avoiding Enlightenment:
How the Left-Brain

by Chris Niebauer
A Nondual Exploration of Consciousness
http://amzn.to/YTQGBL

If you've noticed how your favorite experiences are filled with more "how-ness" of sensory experience and being-ness than "what-ness" of checking things off your to-do list, and wondered what's up with that, this book helps explain why. You can savor looking out the windows of a car or train at the scenery outside much better if you're not asking or being asked every couple of minutes, "Are we there yet?" and essentially this is the premise behind the seemingly contradictory title of this book. Cognitive neuropsychologist Chris Neibauer explores consciousness without categorical thinking in "The Neurotic's Guide to Enlightenment," blending science and mysticism, as he integrates the works of Alan Watts and Eckhart Tolle into current findings from recent discoveries in neuroscience. The key to the magic in this book comes experiencing the sense of exhilarating playfulness that naturally arises from thinking beyond dualities, completely free from categories of any kind. If you're wondering how a book on consciousness can sidestep categories, think of the Zen koan in which a Zen master asks a student to imagine the sound of one hand clapping. There is a long tradition in Eastern philosophy of recognizing the complementary role of nothingness to somethingness, which appears in the Yin/Yang symbols and is part of most every aspect of eastern art, literature, philosophy and thought. There is a common assumption in the West that to be conscious (literally to "know with") implies a self, and that being conscious is to be a self that knows—yet what we can learn from such a narrowly constrained viewpoint is restricted from the start. I absolutely LOVE the way this book points out right from the start that "psychology is dead" in the sense that psychology has overlooked the role of the interpreter, as it presumes that all that need be examined in order to understand consciousness is that part of the mind and brain that reasons, analyzes, and makes sequential choices. There is a "category error" of epic proportion however, when presuming that by studying that which reasons and categorizes, we are seeing all of consciousness there is. You can think of this as a kind of mapping error, in which we look for our lost keys under the streetlight, since that is the only place bright enough to look. Even when most western scientists know that the map is not the territory, and that the brain is not the mind—they do not, for the most part, embody the Kirk-ness of recognizing that the "what-ness" brain makes a far better servant to the "how-ness" mind than master. "The Neurotic's Guide to Enlightenment" contains many exercises that explore consciousness beyond dualistic categories, which are designed to present ambiguities that may slow or frustrate the categorical "what-ness" interpretive mind, in order to experience the "how-ness" holistic mind. Readers not already familiar with Eastern meditation may feel frustrated by this approach, but those open-minded enough to trust the process can be richly rewarded by experiencing a much greater sense of present moment satisfaction. I experience a dream-like sense of living a waking dream while reading this book that I greatly treasure. I love the concept presented in this book that some individuals, such as Star Trek's Captain James T. Kirk, live their lives from a "how-ness" frame of mind, in which they naturally engage with the world experientially in the present moment, free from most of the (unnecessarily restrictive) constraints that most others impose based on categorizations and expectations. Those who live so freely can seem to enjoy lives of amazing good fortune, constantly enjoying "beginner's luck" because they constantly enjoy "beginner mind." I love the journey this book takes me on, as I trust the author to guide me to a place of knowingness beyond assumptions and beliefs about how things "should be" or "really are." There is an exquisite beauty in recognizing that right here, right now, everything is fine—and that we can see past the distortions of the interpretive mind. When we identify with a sense of self beyond that which we previously thought we were, we can enjoy life with less struggle and greater happiness, naturally. And sometimes, we can reach this state of blissful awareness when we stop trying so hard to determine if we're there yet.
