Reality Shift or Ghost?

As I was reading your July newsletter, one of the stories brought up a
memory for me about something I'd experienced a few years ago. And I am
questioning whether this is a reality shift or a ghost and is there a way
to know the difference, thought you might have some thoughts on this
one?
Here's what happened: My ex-mother-in-law had died 3 yrs ago, and my
ex-sister-in-law had asked me to help her clear out the house with a yard
sale.. we cleared everything out of the garage that was to be sold..so no
one was to go into the garage, as things the kids wanted to keep were in
there. I was standing in the kitchen and just happened to look out the back
window, and saw an older man (maybe late 60's, early 70's) go into the
garage.. so I went flying out the back door to let the gentleman know
nothing in there was for sale. The garage is all of ten seconds from the
kitchen...I went in the garage and no one was in there!! The man had simply
disappeared! There is no way he could have gone anywhere else without my
seeing him, I was just seconds away. No one else saw him but me. I had just
figured it must have been a ghost, but why a ghost of an older man I'd
never seen before and could not recognize would walk into the garage was
beyond me of course, and I described him to the others and his description
was not familiar to any of them either.
Now at that time I had not heard of reality shifting so I just assumed it
had been a ghost, now I am questioning if that is what it was...do you have
any thoughts on what it was I experienced?
Thanks for making us all more aware of reality shifts....I would never have
questioned this if not for your articles.
Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for writing to me about this
experience from a few years ago. Yes, this sort of "now you see someone,
now you don't" experience can be a reality shift. I have seen people and
cars vanish into thin air, as well as people enter a room a second time and
walk through it exactly as they had just a few minutes before...
demonstrating the "Groundhog Day" effect. Another type of reality shift
involving people appearing and disappearing suddenly has to do with time
travel, which I've also experienced... and still another has to do with
bilocation, where a person thinking of visiting a place is observed to be
at that place.
Spiders, Spiders Everywhere

For the past several days I have been noticing spiders -- one hanging from
its web on the rail of my back steps, an amazing one that built a web from
a magnolia tree branch about six to eight feet above my car down to the car
roof (in about four hours!), and finally in my office at work. The spider
at work was hanging down from the ceiling to below chest height right
around the corner in the narrow hallway-size part of the office where the
copier paper is stored. This one was just a spider hanging in midair from a
thread. Just looking at me. I knew I could not walk past it because the
space is only about three feet wide. When I saw it, I thought, "That's it!
I keep seeing these spiders everywhere I go. I'll look this up right now on
the computer." I turned around went around the corner to my desk, realized
I'd have to wait a few minutes to look it up, went back around the corner
about five seconds later and saw... NO SPIDER! Not anywhere. Not on the
ceiling, the floor, the wall, not anywhere. And no spider web either! Could
anyone have swept the spider away? No, I was the only one in the office and
the only one in the building. I just love it when these things happen! I
guess this one disappeared when I decided to pay attention to what the
message I'm sending myself is. Thanks for your e-zine and all the
stories!
Note from Cynthia: Thank you so very much for sharing this
wonderful story about appearing and disappearing spiders. This is one of
those things that may sound completely unimpressive to someone, unless, of
course, it happens to them.
Ginny the Magic Cat
Laurie
Oxford, Alabama, USA
One of my cats, Ginny, is an indoor/outdoor cat. Once, when I was coming
home she was outside and I wanted her to come in, but she didn't. Then I
looked and she was coming out of the kitchen. This happened as I opened the
front door, looked back to tell her to come in and then turned around when
she wouldn't and took about five or six steps through the living room and
saw her coming out through the kitchen doorway..
The same thing happened to my brother who was looking after the cats while
I was out of town for the month of April and he was so struck by it that he
told me when I returned. He would not believe in the idea of reality shifts
and that made it really funny to me to hear him say that..
As to secret cat entrances, I'm pretty sure there aren't any or Mickey &
Jack, the two inside cats, would have found them and used them to get out by
now! Ginny is my magic cat!
Note from Cynthia: How marvelous... a magic cat reality shift
story! If you're certain there is no secret cat entrance to your kitchen
from outside, then this is an amazing variety of reality shift involving a
teleporting cat. This reminds me of the January 2004 issue of
RealityShifters,
How to Walk Through Walls, describing some pretty amazing reality shift
experiences!
