Enjoy Life -- Have Fun!

"Jog on, jog on, the footpath way,
And merrily hent the stile-a:
A merry heart goes all the day,
Your sad tires in a mile-a."
~ Shakespeare

On my recent travels this month, I felt marvelously refreshed and revitalized, even as I conducted talks, workshops, and radio and television interviews. What could have been a stressful series of days felt more like a vacation, and I noticed how relaxed and invigorated I felt at the end of it all. At times I only had a few hours sleep, yet always I felt energized and lively. "How could this be possible?", I wondered.

The most striking thing I noticed during this time of traveling was how happy I felt. These joyful feelings infused even my most strenuous days with fresh new energy. I was glad to be able to spend time with friends and family while I traveled, and grateful that I enjoyed what I was doing. Before each of my talks, workshops, or interviews, I sang a song I wrote for the young adult metaphysical novel I'll soon be publishing. Singing this song keeps my mood merry and bright, and lifts my spirits.

Researchers in the field of sports psychology have found a strong connection between our emotions and our physical prowess and stamina. We now know that emotional training is every bit as important to successful athletes as physical training, as coaches remind their athletes to "stay in the moment," "meet your personal goals," "be in the zone," and "have fun." This is good advice for all of us as we jump various hurdles in our lives -- especially when those hurdles start getting higher and coming closer together.

Are you ready to take yourself to new heights?

Imagine for a moment that there is nothing more important than remembering to have fun along the way. No matter how challenging your life is, or what you must do today... ask yourself, "How can this be more fun?" If you feel like dancing... dance. If you feel inspired to sing... sing! Find something to feel happy about, go do it, and watch the world brighten around you. Feel your spirits soar to new heights!

SINGING & DANCING SYNCHRONICITIES
by Lisa
Davis, California

In the summer of 1998, while walking along the greenbelt in the evening with my husband and son, I was dancing along the pathway to the tune of "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from "Mary Poppins" just for fun. I was astounded when the very next night the very movie was on TV! I hadn't seen it since I was a little child, and rarely thought of songs from the movie unless I'm out flying a kite. That experience made me think about Native American rain dances, and how people use dance as a form of prayer. I love the idea that involving my whole body in an idea really charges the idea. After that experience, I was dancing for everything I wanted! I notice that many of my coincidences have to do with songs and music. The part of my brain that grooves with the music must have a strong connection with my attracting powers. Idea: Find music/songs that have positive ideas/expressions that I want to incorporate into my life.

In October of 1998, I was singing the song "I Could Have Danced All Night" from "My Fair Lady" on the drive home from Napa. Later that same day, I saw that the movie was playing on TV as I flipped channels!

CLEARING THE WAY
by Donna
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

I've always been a strong believer in the power of words and thoughts. For me, a single thought can not only change our lives, but also the entire universe...or at least the way we interact with it. :-) Therefore, I try to be very careful abut the things I say, do and think.

Last summer, my 7 year old son was undergoing tests for suspected heart problems. After a cardiac ultrasound, they were tossing around the words "possible ASD", and "open heart surgery". They referred him to a pediatric cardiologist. I refused to acknowledge what the doctor's were saying, and told my entire family to clear the thought of ASD from their minds and vocabulary. I told them and myself to go on with our lives and thoughts as if this was not happening. We all believed that there was nothing wrong, and that the visit to the cardiologist was just a minor bump on the road of life where we would be told that all was well. It turned out that he had an innocent heart murmur.

I recently applied this same technique to my own situation, when a huge growth showed up on some stomach tests I had done a few months ago. My doctor called me in, and sent me off for a whole bunch of other tests. In the time I spent waiting to get in for these tests, I decided that I was way too young to have to worry about having health problems, especially considering the fact I have four children. Well, test one came out just fine. They referred it back to the other test, and just can't figure it out. So then came test two, same results, nothing wrong, no growth showing up at all. I told everyone there was nothing wrong with me, and that when the tests came back, this would be verified. I do not dwell on anything having to do with any kind of "problem". I find that that you can choose to approach situations in many different ways. I just prefer to approach them from a "positive" mental outlook. I put positive in quotes, because, to me, experiences are not good or bad, negative or positive, black or white... they just are, and what they are, is what we make of them and learn from them. I have one more procedure scheduled for May, which is a little more invasive, but that one will come back perfect as well. My Doctor says she is shaking her head over this one. Hee hee.. I just grin and tell her, "I told ya so!"

As for any additional techniques I use, basically, I try very hard to live in the now. I find that it is very easy to get caught up in the past, and even easier to worry about the future. Living now, however requires a constant effort. I do my best to stay connected to the here and now through my breathing. I figure every breath I take is occurring now, so if I focus on that, then it keeps me here. A friend of mine says it's like I'm going through life in a constant state of meditation.

I love working with energy and color, and change my environment quite often with colored energy. I have four kids, three of whom are athletes and quite energetic. I am a very quiet person, so the chaos that ensues from the little ones can oft times drive me to distraction if I let it. I find that filling the room, the house, with a cooling blue energy leads to a nice calming effect upon one and all.

I love to read, but haven't had the chance to do much of it over the past seven years. I find that I need to keep learning though, but where to find the time? Well, the perfect time for me was while I was "sleeping". I actively astral travel as much as possible when I go to bed at night. I requested help from other beings of light, and receive it on a constant basis. It's to the point that whenever I have a question, I toss it out to the universe, and the answer... or something else to make me discover the answer myself... always comes back. I just listen for it.

My biggest life lesson is to look at my life experience from a big picture perspective; this helps to keep it all in order for me.

(4) Reality Shifters Q & A

Q: Hi Cynthia, I'm one of those who are seeking for answers in life. One of the websites I stumbled across is 'RealityShifters'. The exercise on connecting with Divine Love caught my attention. I realize the great importance of connecting with Divine Love, but I can't quite grasp the idea of what Divine Love actually is. I have the feeling that you can help shed some light on this topic for me, which as far as I know is very different from the natural love that we were born with. This Divine Love is also what our master Jesus has been teaching all along. Can I politely ask for you to share with me some insight on this subject of Divine Love? God Bless.

-- Eric

A: The question, "What is divine love?" is something I am continually learning about. I find that as I focus my attention on this question as a form of prayer/meditation, my very ability to comprehend the answer to the question is transformed. I currently practice a three-step form of prayer meditation where the first step is to ask myself "What is divine love?" and wait to experience the answer. The second step is to feel that I am a temple for this divine love to reside. The third step is to feel that divine love is actively flowing through me. My suggestion to you is to ask yourself "What is divine love?" and await the answer. When you quiet your mind and still your body, you will be more receptive to feeling a reply. Some days, I get a feeling of love that washes over me as I contemplate this question. Other days, I hardly feel anything at all. Even when I don't feel like I'm getting much of an answer, I benefit tremendously the following day for having undergone the prayer meditation. I find my life improves as I see the world through eyes of divine love.

-- Cynthia

BAKTUN 2012 tells the story of one woman's spiritual adventure in the Mayan pyramids. As the year 2012 approaches, a San Francisco woman named Karen Rune still grieves for her deceased female lover, and remembers how happily they had lived together in Mexico several years before. Karen finds herself dreaming strange dreams and feels drawn to return to Mexico to seek guidance from a Mayan astronomer and teacher named Yvonne Quextal. When she arrives in Mexico, Karen learns that the coming of the new Mayan age, or baktun, coincides with the coming of the Raven comet that the Mayans call "crow," because it announces a new creation. The surprise of BAKTUN 2012 is how this creation comes into being... there is an unexpected twist at the end of this book!

The Force is with You

The Force is with You:
Mystical Movie Messages That Inspire Our Lives
by Stephen Simon

Finding Spiritual Meaning in Cinema
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1571743499/realityshifts

Hallelujah! We finally have a book that's dedicated to covering the newly emerging category of spiritual cinema! THE FORCE IS WITH YOU is written by Hollywood insider Stephen Simon, who writes straight from his heart about the significant messages in more than 70 movies. Spiritual Cinema is all about exploring the meaning of love, life, death, time, and space -- which are the topics I most enjoy seeing in the movies. Most of my favorite movies are included here: The Matrix, Sliding Doors, Somewhere in Time, The Kid, Frequency, Star Wars, Lost Horizon, The Sixth Sense, Ghost, What Dreams May Come, Defending Your Life, Groundhog Day, Contact, Phenomenon, Powder, Being There, The Truman Show, Sleepless in Seattle, Family Man, and It's A Wonderful Life. What I love best about THE FORCE IS WITH YOU is the way it so clearly conveys a sense of hope, inspiration, and purposefulness about the way humanity learns about its worst fears and greatest hopes through stories. Yes, we love to vividly imagine the end of the world... but we also love to dream of ways we can find solutions to our biggest problems. We know that it's not easy being more spiritually and psychically evolved... but we love to imagine how those of us who are different can be accepted in mainstream society. THE FORCE IS WITH YOU is priceless for clarifying what the new genre of "Spiritual Cinema" is all about, and for providing an inspiring list of the most spiritual movies of all time. It is my deepest hope that this book will help establish awareness in film-makers everywhere of the importance of making spiritual movies, as it helps movie-goers better understand the significance of the movies they see.
