I find the perspective, "it's all about me" to be surprisingly true. Everything from bumper stickers you see on passing cars, to random snippets of words you overhear in other peoples' conversations, to songs you happen to hear on the radio can contain specific messages just for you. All these things not only are able to contain personal, specific messages... but I believe they DO. It's all the more likely in cases where other people won't challenge what you observed. If you were to discuss with everyone you met what the newspaper said each day for all the signs of the zodiac, and shared written logs with your friends and family of everything you had each heard on the radio and in the media, it's likely that these closely observed things would tend to agree with what other people were also noticing. When people don't compare notes with each other regarding what they experience, I'm certain that a whole LOT of reality shifting is going on! Reality only seems required to come to consensus agreement with observers who are all paying fairly equal attention to the same things, and rather frequently comparing notes.

I regularly experience what feels like individualized conversation between me and the universe. This conversation deepens and gets more interesting when I pay closer attention... listening with every fiber in my body, reaching for the entire feeling of all that is being conveyed. When I ask questions, I get instant answers from any place my attention happens to wander. I've walked into a movie theater with a movie already in progress to hear a character on the big screen instantly greet me by saying, "Hello, Cynthia!" I've asked the universe questions as I was driving down the freeway, and gotten answers over a series of license plates on the next several cars that passed. I consider these messages to be dynamic expressions of consciousness manifesting themselves physically in the world, in direct response to my thoughts and feelings; these are reality shifts that communicate something interesting and helpful just for me. I also believe that similarly personal reality shifts are happening for everyone else, including you.

It is probably true that today's newspaper horoscope has a special individual message just for you. It's equally true that the random snippets of music and words you happen to overhear on the car radio on your way somewhere as you switch stations and ask the universe questions is exactly and only for you. It's also true that when you get to the movie theater and buy a ticket and walk on in... the movie you happen to see is exactly for you. When you see the movie another time, you may well note that the movie does not seem the same anymore... that something has changed.

Listening to these kinds of shifts in reality is where we each have the opportunity to discern how it is that we uniquely affect the universe with our observations. Ask yourself, "How does realizing that it really IS all about me change things?" For starters, you can notice how what's on the inside of you keeps showing up all around you.

SHELDRAKE PLANS KERALA-BASED STUDY ON TELEPATHY

Rupert Sheldrake plans to do a study on telepathy, based in Kerala. The first phase of the project, funded by an American agency, will be done in and around Thrissur. "For generations, the men in Mr. Narayanan Nair's family have been mahouts. The way he communicated with the elephants was amazing," Mr. Sheldrake says. The scientist claims that animals share "a kind of telepathic bond with their masters".

BOWS APPEARED BEFORE I SEWED THEM

I experienced a truly extraordinary shift in reality about eleven years ago while sewing some valances for my windows. I had decided to put bows on the top of the gathers on two balloon valances that each required two bows, so I needed to make four bows. As I set out making the bows, I thought about what a monotonous job it was, because I had to run a seam down a narrow piece of fabric and then turn the whole thing inside-out so the seam would be inside the bow.

I didn't mind making the bows that much, though, since sewing is pretty relaxing for me. Here is a point that should be noted: As I sewed, I pictured VERY clearly in my mind how nice the valances would look once they were up, picturing the bows jauntily perched at the tops of the balloon gathers.

I sewed, ironed, and tied the first bow, and pushed it to the back of the sewing machine. I then sewed, ironed, and tied the second bow, and put it with the first bow behind the sewing machine. As I prepared to cut the fabric for the third bow, something on the bed in back of me and to my left caught my eye. I turned to see what it was, and was absolutely stunned to see TWO MORE bows lying on the bed, side by side. These bows were already ironed flat, tied, and completed.

Well, I very nearly had a mini-meltdown. I have had many reality shifts in my life, and knew what had happened, but had not experienced a reality shift for a long while, so I sat and really wondered for a few minutes if I were losing my mind.

Now I believe that the clear picture that I had in my mind of the finished valances just helped me make a shortcut through time and space to the time/place when/where the bows were finished. Do you remember the song "Scarlet Ribbons?" Apparently the universe doesn't care if it's something very insignificant to others, just that it's important to you at the time, like scarlet ribbons for a little girls hair, or pink bows for your window valances.

That experience was a profound one for me, because it involved the appearance of something that I allegedly "made" myself. That's why I seriously questioned my sanity for a few minutes, wondering if perhaps I had completed them and then just forgotten making them.

I would have had an easier time accepting the appearance of a ring or other lost object. We read and hear about experiences involving watches and other "premanufactured" objects appearing, but rarely about hand-crafted items manufacturing themselves right there in one's bedroom! It was a strong lesson for me, one felt very deeply, about the process of creation.

Perhaps after we have grown more in understanding, we will question our sanity if we ever find ourselves in a situation where we give ourselves the illusion that it takes "time" to create a form or circumstance we want, rather than having it come to us instantaneously, as it does in reality. I now know the truth, and question why I still allow myself to hold on to so many illusions. For entertainment? Out of fear? What?

BOOKS TOSSED OUT REAPPEAR AGAIN

I'd like to share one of my favourite manifesting stories. I smile every time I remember it!

When I moved away from home eight years ago, I brought all my favorite childhood books with me. I kept them in boxes for years, until last year when I went through a 'clearing the clutter' phase. I was a bit too ruthless. I decided to get rid of a couple of books that I thought I'd never miss, even though they were very old.

A couple of months down the line I was talking about these books with my fiance, feeling quite excited to show them to him. I went searching through the attic, and when I couldn't find them I suddenly remembered... I'd thrown them out! Oh no! I was gutted! Really annoyed with myself. I sat down and begged the universe to bring them back! I really really wanted them back. I didn't see how it was possible to get the same ones back, of course. I assumed I'd probably find replacement books in a second hand shop or something.

A month later I emailed my mum to tell her I'd been looking for these books. She emailed me back a few days later to say she'd found a box of old books which were my brother's, and in it were the two books I'd thrown out! They were the very same ones, with the home made stickers with my name and age written on the cover! I was sooooo happy! The universe had given them back to me!

Don't ya just love metaphysics!

MYSTERIOUS CATNAPPER IMPRINT APPEARS

My beloved cat "Mister Purrby" passed in November of last year. He always loved to lounge in his catnapper that is positioned in front of the window. In January I found a beautiful cat, "Minnie," not quite a year old at the shelter and brought her home with me. Since Purrby's catnapper was old and worn from his weight (he was a hefty 29 pounds of white fur), I purchased a new one for Minnie, which I securely attached to the windowsill. Minnie soon decided this was her favorite spot.

Minnie and I were on the couch watching TV the other day, when out of the blue the catnapper just fell down. When I looked at it, I saw a clear impression in the padding. This was highly peculiar, because I had just fluffed the bedding earlier and cleaned the catnip off it. I had also checked it then, and noted that it was very stable. Odd!

When I went back to watch TV, shortly after the catnapper had fallen, the little fan in the living room just stopped. I checked the plug to make sure it was plugged in, and saw that it was. I thought perhaps there had been an electrical problem, but nothing else had fluctuated... so I figured the fan had seen it's day. A few minutes later, the fan started up again!

Minnie will not go near the catnapper now. I want to believe my Purrby visited us.

LID'L DOLLY DRESS APPEARS

June 18th was a day of many reality shifts for me, one of which I'll share with you now. My youngest brother is a single father of two, who works very hard for very little. He seldom has much extra money for clothing for the kids, let alone special clothing. He found himself stressing over an upcoming semi-formal family event. I had an extra little boy's three piece suit minus a shirt which I had dry cleaned and brought with me for my nephew. My sister-in-law said she had lots of dresses and would pick out a nice one for my niece. While the dress she picked out for my niece would do, it wasn't quite up to what the rest of the little girls would be wearing. When I left my brothers place, all I could think of was "I wish I could afford to buy a Lid'l Dolly dress for Emily." Now, I live in Canada, Lid'l Dolly dresses are made and sold exclusively for Dollywood in Tennessee. I have never come across a Lid'l Dolly anywhere in Canada, and the website for the Lid'l Dolly dresses states it does not ship to Canada.

So we went on with all of our shopping, stopping at dollar stores, drug stores, and grocery stores. We went into Walmart, and looked through the litle girl's clothing but couldn't find anything appropriate. On our way out, I turned to my husband and said "I'm going to Value Village, and I'm going to find the perfect dress for Emily there." The Value Village thrift store is not a place I normally frequent, although I do like consignment stores. When we got to the parking lot of Value Village, I sent out the desire to the universe for the perfect dress for Emily. We then all went inside -- hubby, Sis in law, son Mic, and myself. I was halfway across Value Village when I saw the familiar yards and yards of lace. Yes, it was a brand new, tags still attached, Lid'l Dolly, in size 4! Not only had a Lid'l Dolly manifested, but it was also Emily's size! Now, what are the chances of not only coming across a Lid'l Dolly, but in the perfect size, color, and price range ($7)! Thank you Universe!

We also found the perfect shirt to match the Lid'l Dolly for my nephew to wear with his suit, since it turned out that my brother didn't have a dress shirt in my nephew's size.

(5) Reality Shifters Q & A

Q: I purchased your Aura book, and am trying to find out what the relationship is in transmitting thought energy with auras that are expanded. My thinking is that when one's aura is shallow their thoughts do not transmit to the universe as well as those whose auras are expanded. Is this correct?

Also, once the Chakras are fully activated more energy is transmitted in and out... Is this correct?

Could you kindly provide me with your knowledge on this.

A: Thanks so much for writing! Thoughts transmit most clearly from someone who's aura is strong. While some people's auras are both expanded and strong, that's not always the case. The ideal is to make sure that one's energy field is strong (with no rips, tears, dark areas, etc) and that the chakras are aligned, open, and balanced. It is true that chakras that are fully activated provide one with more overall energy, which definitely helps in transmitting thoughts through the universe.
