Effortless Success

Have you noticed how things just seem to go a whole lot better when you don't try too hard? If you stop to think about it, you may notice that most of your biggest breaks appear to be entirely a matter of luck or good fortune... combined with a can-do attitude of "just say yes to success". For example, I was interviewed by both BBC Radio and Animal Planet this year, and all I had to do was say, "Yes!" and then follow through when they asked if I was interested.

I noticed how effortless success can be again at Book Expo America this month. Book Expo was a wonderful (if slightly overwhelming) experience -- and truly a book-lover's paradise! Most authors give away free signed copies of their works, since attendees are highly influential book buyers for stores and libraries. I wore a denim vest covered in badges for my two books that are coming out this year, Aura Advantage: How the Colors in Your Aura Can Help You Attain What You Desire and Attract Success and Karen Kimball & the Dream Weaver's Web. Every time someone commented on my badges, I took the opportunity to tell them about my books and offer them a badge or two and some information about the books. This low-key sales approach worked great for me, and compensated for the fact that I wasn't sitting at a booth of my own.

I also happened to be at the right place at the right time to enjoy meeting fascinating authors, publishers, book store owners and librarians. I felt extremely fortunate to meet both film-maker Michael Moore and author and publisher Louise Hay.

I first met Michael Moore while standing in line for a "Lord of the Rings" book tote bag, although I did not recognize him at first. He walked over to talk to the man standing in line just behind me, who was a friend of his. As I stared intently at Michael's name tag and studied his face, I felt certain I knew him... but couldn't quite remember who he was. As Michael finished chatting with the man next to me, he said, "Well, I'd better go stand at the end of the line," and smiled and walked to the back of the line. The man standing next to me grinned and asked me, "Recognize someone famous?" Now I was sure that other man looked familiar -- he was THE Michael Moore who filmed "Roger & Me" and "Bowling for Colombine"! I was impressed at how friendly Michael is, and that such a small thing as not cutting in line matters to him.

As author Louise Hay writes in her book, Heart Thoughts, "I follow the path of right action. I choose my thoughts to be in alignment with all that is for my highest good and greatest joy."

When you start walking that path of right action, be prepared to discover how effortless success can be!

IT FINALLY HAPPENED TO ME

In my bathroom I have a little basket that I put my watch in before I take a shower. At least six months ago, as I went to put it in the basket, it slipped out of my hand. I assumed it fell to the floor -- in any case, it disappeared from sight. I didn't see it on the floor, so I thought it might have fallen into the trash basket, but I didn't see it on top. I wasn't inclined to dig through the trash, so I figured the watch was gone for good. SInce it wasn't an expensive watch and I had plenty others, I didn't lose any sleep over it.

Although I am very aware of the reality shifting phenomena, it had never happened to me before so I didn't even consider it as a possible explanation for why my watch had disappeared. On the morning of June 6th as I was getting something out of the closet in my spare room, I noticed my long-lost watch hanging on the doorknob!

I use this closet frequently, and its doorknobs always have hangers on them, so there is simply no way I could not have noticed my watch hanging there if that's where it had been all these months. I live alone, so NOBODY could have hung my watch on the doorknob. I guess I'll never know how it got there (and yes, I do have two cats, but trust me, this is NOT something a cat would do). It's fascinating to think about.

WEDDING RING REVERSED WHILE I SLEPT

I am enjoying reading other people' stories on the realityshifters web site, and cherishing the synchronicities in my life. Contemplating these magical experiences brings joy to my heart. I welcome all mysterious events and synchronicities in my life because they give me a feeling of getting closer to the Big Truth.

There is one recurring event in my life that I can not easily classify, nor can I guess its meaning. I have a wedding ring made of tricolor gold. From the very first day I wore it, it has always had the red tone gold side at the base of my finger. This ring is tight fitting; sometimes I jiggle it up and down on my finger, but I never take it off.

The puzzle of this ring is that once in a while I wake up and see it is reversed, with the red tone side facing the opposite way. This first started happening while I was living in New York, although it has continued to happen since I moved to Florida. I just cannot believe I could be taking it off and putting it back on in my sleep! I have never sleep walked or done anything coherent in my sleeping state.

The first few times this happened, I thought I somehow was the "perpetrator", until I realized it happens while I am asleep. I have to admit I even thought about aliens, but that idea does not fit my belief system. Anyway, every time my ring turns, I am happily surprised. It's just like "here it is again." I watch and wait for it. Even my ten-year-old daughter checks with me from time to time, to see if the ring is misbehaving. Last time it happened on February 20th. I tried to tie it to my dreams that I keep a diary of, but was unable to recall my dreams on the day the ring reversed direction. I did remember my dream on the 20th, but was not sure if I dreamt it that night or the night before. It had to do with my brother, not my marriage.

Hi, Cynthia! After reading your "spoon-bending party" article with its concept of "relaxed inattention", it immediately made me think of my experiences while fishing. Many, very many times I caught fish when my intent to catch a fish was temporarily diverted by enjoying the beauty of the surroundings, or noticing a bird fly by, etc.

I've also noticed that small children many times are the only ones who land a fish for the day... playful intent indeed! Thanks for the article.

(3) Reality Shifters Q & A

Q: Many arguments happen over who said what when between family members, friends, and acquaintances. Could some of these disputes be the result of shifting realities than bad memories? We can all remember a time or two when discussions were so far removed from each other that it left both parties amazed at the discrepancies.

A: Thank you SO much for mentioning this! Yes, these disputes can and sometimes are the result of shifting memories. I've noticed reality shifts causing some confusion on at least two separate occasions in my life in cases where I trust both sides (my own and the other person's). When one person clearly remembers having said something, and another (or others) are equally certain that no such comment was ever made, allow for the possibility that "we're both right, and we've just experienced a reality shift!" This is happening a lot more often than most people realize.
